Wedding morning – Wedding planners life
On the wedding morning I packed all my wedding planner stuff and the flowers for bride and entourage into my Cabrio (thank god it was a sunny day and I was able to open the roof top, otherwise there could have been some problems… ;))
The main theme for the wedding decoration and flowers was Boho mountain wedding. Passiflori Penzberg did a gorgeous bridal bouquet, wild flowers, dahlias, thistles, eucalyptus, grasses, feathers and succulents in a colour scheme from navy blue, purple and dark berry and grey-green.

The wedding venue
For the wedding ceremony, reception and dinner “Das Graseck” was chosen and booked one year before. It is a hotel up in the Bavarian alps, reachable only with a little cable car or with a shuttle service from the hotel. It is very private and quiet, located in the middle of nature with a stunning view and mountain panorama. The wedding was in October and the colours of the forests around were warm and beautiful – and so was the weather.
Next to Graseck there is a little chapel. To small for a wedding but great to took some pictures. Like a postcard from Bavaria…

Walking down the aisle
Getting married at das Graseck – that means not only have a short walk down the aisle. The bride arrives with the cable car! I have to say, this is a special thing because normally the entire hotel is booked for the wedding and so the bride is already there. But this time the hotel was Werdenfelserei in downtown Garmisch-Partenkirchen and I organized a shuttle for all the guests. The last one to get up and to be awaited from everyone was the bride with entourage.
Wedding vendors – helpful hands, best partner
The wedding DJ´s Chris Thalmeier und Georg Kössler prepared the whole sound system in the morning, music for the ceremony as well as for dinner and dancing. I´ve been working with them for years now and it is always a relief to have them by my side, highly reliable, professional, well equipped and always a good vibes guarantee.
The wedding photographer was Aneta Lehotska. She is not only a very good photographer but also a sympathic woman in a good mood and I really love to see how she get´s in touch with everyone, especially how comfortable she makes bride and groom feel.
The wedding ceremony
I guess these panoramic mountain view pictures speak for themselves. There are few similar places in the surrounding of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and even more less with such a perfect service. Mountain wedding as its best.
Wedding reception
After the ceremony a barrel of Augustiner beer waited for thursty guests and even some appetizers were prepared by the Graseck restaurant catering. There were mini Schnitzel with potato salad, caprese, pretzels, Nuernberger sausages with Kraut and other delicacies. So the guests spent a relaxed afternoon in the autumn sun outside on the Graseck´s patio with food and drinks while bride and groom went out with Aneta for a pair photo shooting.
Wedding dinner
Welcome to our happily ever after! said the welcome sign at the dinner restaurant. The hotels breakfast room switched to an elegant but cosy dinner location that evening. Comfortable furniture invited to enjoy the delicious wedding dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. The tables layed with white linen table cloth and napkins, luxuriant flower bouquets and center pieces on the tables and a mix of various glass candle holders in a colour mix. Escort cards and table numbers in navy blue completed the wedding Boho style table decoration.
Once more, the alpine panorama was breath-taking. To watch the mountain sunset in this scenery was really a special experience. “To the mountains we go…” – yes please!
So after sunset and right after dinner the party started! There was little time for dancing and music because we had to leave Graseck at 9:00 pm, due to the fact that not the entire hotel was booked and the hotel rooms where booked by other guests who – of course – did not want to party but relax. But wow, this wedding company clearly knew how to party! Chris and Georg, the DJ´s, did – again – a fantastic job and all the guests were on the dance floor. A few of them even ignored the fantastic dessert – apple strudel and iced coffee – they were in party mood!
Cutting the cake
But there was still one more highlight for the day, the wedding cake. Café Kroenner in Garmisch-Partenkirchen did a great job with this cake: it was natural with no colours but mountain reliefs and pine trees around, placed on a wooden log (especially made for food use) and with a simple wooden cake topper, brought by bride and groom. The perfect mountain wedding cake. The filling was in the basement “Prinzregenten” (chocolate and bisquit in very thin layers) and raspberry lemon on the top.
The wooden letters in the restaurant showed the name “Bergromanze” what means in translation “mountain romance“. I guess this meets the idea of this fantastic wedding day very well.
After the music stopped at 9:00 pm all the guests got some chocolates from the Chocolaterie Amelie in Garmisch-Partenkirchen as a wedding favor from bride and groon before heading of to downtown Garmisch-Partenkirchen again (wow, a night ride with the cable car is really exciting!) and celebrate a few hours more at the hotels bar.
It was again an unique and special wedding and I´m really thankful for having the most gorgeous job in this world: being a wedding planner. “Do it with passion – or not at all“.
Thank you to all my past and future bride and grooms for letting me party of their special day.
Love,
Uschi
