Destination wedding in the mountains of Bavaria

A destination wedding in Bavaria in May, the closest family and friends, lake, mountains, a little cottage and a lot of love – these ingredients made an incredible wedding day in Garmisch-Partenkirchen!

Soft spring colours

The colour scheme was very romantic: dusty blue, blush, white and sage green, hydrangeas, roses, eucalyptus and sweet thistles, combined with fabrics and ribbons. It matched the beautiful spring scenery around Pflegersee as well as the cottage for the dinner perfect.

Symbolic outdoor ceremony

The ceremony took place at the lido of lake Pflegersee in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a romantic little mountain lake with the Berggasthof nearby for cocktail hour, snacks and the cutting of the cake.

The day started with perfect spring weather and sunshine – but right before the ceremony there was a thunderstorm and hard rain. But the fearless couple spoke their vows like never-mind!

Cocktail hour

The reward for this adventure ceremony on the shores of lake Pflegersee was a cosy cocktail hour in the Berggasthof Pflegersee with heart shaped pretzels and a delicious wedding cake.

While the guests enjoyed some leisure time and snacks the couple started an unforgettable photo shooting with Aneta Lehotska (by the way, thank you for sharing the pics ♥). Again, the bride was totally relaxed with the dress and so they walked to the Werdenfels castle ruin for some amazing and unique wedding memory pics. Thank god, there was a second pair of shoes ;).

Wedding recpetion

For the wedding dinner of the wedding party with 15 guests we hired the Hammersbach cottage in nearby Grainau exclusively. This little house is located on the hiking path to the Zugspitze but down in the valley and has parking lots in front of the door. The backdrop mountain view is simply stunning and the cottage inside cosy and comfortable.

There is also a chapel and a hotel with a nice bar nearby, just to mention it.

Table decor

All guest find their place on one table, decorated with rich flower arrangements, candles, golden cutlery and linen napkins. After enjoying nice Bavarian food, wine and beer the company ended up in the Berghotel Hammersbach bar for some drinks and then getting back to the Edelweiss Lodge by taxi.

It was a lovely day for this destination wedding in the Bavarian mountains and I´m really happy and thankful that I was able to assist and being a part of it.
