The wedding of Carley and Ben (not to forget the lovely Dackel Lilly and Frankie) took place in October 2023 in the mountains of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, at the Tannenhütte. The Tannenhütte is overlooking Garmisch and has a fantastic view to the Wetterstein with Zugspitze and Alpspitze. As it was an international wedding with a lot of guests from abroad, we write another time in English to keep the memories for couple and guests alive.
Getting Ready downtown Garmisch
Bride groom and the “inner wheel” of the wedding party found their accomodation in a holiday house in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the large flat with garden access was enough space for the getting ready of bride and groom and the photographer, Aneta Lehotska (by the way, thank you for the stunning wedding pics and thank you Carley and Ben that I´m allowed to show them!), had not to travel around to take pics of both parts. Always watching and caring: the Dackel dogs ♥
Outdoor ceremony with mountain view
With my team and the assistance of Tannenhütte we did the set-up for the ceremony with a gorgeous view to the mountains and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Passiflori did once again a marvellous job on the flowers, bright autumn colours, I really still love the result. Some sheeps were around (we had to keep an eye on them, they were trying to eat the flowers *haha*) and the weather was, though it was the beginning of October, still warm and sunny. The guests came up first with a bus we had arranged, followed by a separate shuttle for bride and entourage.
To the mountains we go – to have fun and drinks!
After the ceremony we walked over the hanging bridge to the Tannenhütte. It is only a five minutes hike, but in case anyone is not able to do it, it is possible to get a shuttle to the Tannenhütte.
The Tannenhütte team awaited us with a keg of beer to tap, great food and drinks and as a special surprise for the international guests we also had ordered alp horn players. Even “sawing the log” was part of this October wedding afternoon in the Bavarian alps.
Wedding dinner
The Tannenhütte is furnitured all in bright wood and fancy white table cloth would not had matched the nature cottage style. So we decided on table runners instead, lots of flowers and candles and of course some mountain matching items like the printables and – very special. String lights on the ceiling gave the room a cosy atmosphere after sunset.
Food and drinks were provided by the Tannenhütte Catering and they did a great job. We had also vegetarian and gluten free options, Kaiserschmarrn with apple sauce and stewed plums and a fantastic midnight snack with Bavarian delicacies like Salami, ham, cheese, pickles and fresh bread. For the party there were signature drinks, named after the Dackel dogs “The Lily” and “The Frankie”. Board design by 4 weddings & events.
Cutting the cake
It is always a special challenge to get a wedding cake up in the mountains. Carley and Ben decided on cup cakes which were placed on an etagere which was designed and created by my husband Michael. The wooden logs were a perfect base for the fancy cupcakes. On top was – also special – a carrot cake with a Dackel cake topper! Loved this so much ♥
The rest is history…
Eat, drink, be married… Dancing, fire pits outdoor, romantic moments, a fantastic night view to the valley and again, dancing… What a wonderful wedding night! Thank you so much, Carley and Ben, for all your trust along the way, for chosing me as your wedding planner, for your warm words during the grooms speech and this great experience with you. I´m so looking forward to see you again soon!
