Wedding Weekend in Austria, Tyrol

Lake Achensee was the destination for this amazing wedding weekend in Tyrol, Entners am See our wedding venue. From the beginning it could not have been better. The hotels staff was welcoming, the rooms – with balcony and lake view – spacey and very tiday and lake Achensee awaited us with a bit stormy but warm summer weather. It was a June wedding and most of the guests were travelling in from the United States. Entners am See is well reachable from Munich airport and Innsbruck airport which was a plus. The weekend started with the rehearsal dinner at the “Wirtshaus” next to Entners. The food – typical Bavarian snack plates, pork roast and dumplings and Kaiserschmarrn – was served “family style”. Each table got plates, pots and pans in the middle and it was a relaxed atmosphere outside in the Biergarten. This part was for the bridal party and closest family (thank you so much Stephanie & John for inviting me!), followed by a “meet & greet” party at the lido. All guests got our special wedding bracelets. With the bracelets, that showed the time line for the next day, they were able to get drinks and join the party.

The Getting Ready took place on the 5th floor of the hotel, overlooking the lake and mountains and with a soft summer breeze waving in from the balcony while everyone else was having breakfast on the panorama terrace or a swim in the lake-side infinity pool. What a summer weekend!

Wedding ceremony with a view

The view above the stormy lake on that summer day in June was just stunning. Lake days are the best days – this is so true! It felt like lake Como or lake Garda, somewhere in Italy, warm, windy but even surrounded by mountains and the sun glittering on the emerald green water. So beautiful. Susan from the Hochzeitsredner Tirol was the officiant for the ceremony, very emotional and individual.

Wedding reception

After a relaxing afternoon at the hotels lido with view to lake Achensee, cocktails and fingerfood, photo shootings, live music and talks the dinner took place in the hotels ball room “Seediele” with lake view and fantastic dancing and bar area. The atmosphere was elegant but cosy and it was a fantastic wedding dinner at Entners.

The morning after…

It was really hard to leave lake Achensee early next morning, but the next wedding in Kitzbühel was waiting. In the wedding night there were thunderstorms over the lake, it rained hard, really spectacular. But when I woke up at 6 and looked from my balcony over the lake the clouds were opening up and the sun came back. I really would have loved to swim the infinity pool and relax a little bit, but time was running. Luckily, the wedding party booked a night more to recover from the celebrations and was able to enjoy this great day. The Kitzbühel blog is to follow ;).
