Welcome party – Bavarian style
The festivities began on Thursday evening with a cozy welcome party at the Biergarten of the Garmischer Hof, a charming organic hotel in the heart of town. Guests were greeted with colorful mountain florals, a freshly tapped beer barrel, warm pretzels, hearty Bavarian dishes and traditional music. It was a true taste of Bavarian hospitality and culture — the perfect start to this mountain wedding weekend.
Getting ready with a view
On Friday morning, anticipation filled the air as the bride and her entourage got ready in the panoramic top suite of the Werdenfelserei boutique hotel, offering stunning views over the Wetterstein mountains. The atmosphere was calm and joyful, as the morning sun illuminated the peaks — a picture-perfect beginning to the wedding day.
I do with a view
The symbolic ceremony took place on the rooftop terrace of the Werdenfelserei — with sweeping views over the church spire of Garmisch and the soft green of the Kramer mountain. Elegant décor in shades of green, white, cream, and gold reflected the effortless beauty of this summer day. Every detail — from delicate floral arrangements to the soft mountain breeze — added to the fairytale atmosphere.
Lake time to remember
After the ceremony, the guests were whisked away by bus to the world-famous Eibsee in Grainau, a majestic turquoise and emerald alpine lake nestled at the foot of the Zugspitze. Waiting for them was the historic motorboat „Reserl“, ready to take everyone on a private cruise across the shimmering waters. The couple made a short stop on one of the tiny islands for a breathtaking photoshoot — surrounded by crystal-clear reflections and pure mountain tranquility.
The adventure begins – on top of Germany!
The next highlight quite literally took the celebration to new heights — a trip to the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest peak at 2,962 meters. The group enjoyed the cocktail hour, group pictures and good food – and the couple had a few intimate moments among the clouds. The same cheerful Bavarian band from the welcome party filled the mountain top with music and laughter, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Sunset Dinner at lake Pflegersee
As the sun began to set, the celebration continued at the Berggasthof Pflegersee, a picturesque lakeside venue high above Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The tables, dressed in green, cream, and gold, mirrored the soft green of the lake — a perfect harmony of nature and elegance.
Fairy lights twinkled in the evening air, their reflections dancing on the water, as guests enjoyed a heartfelt dinner, the first dance and the traditional cake cutting. The atmosphere was warm, romantic, and full of joy — the perfect ending to a magical mountain wedding weekend.
When the night drew to a close, DJ Chris kept the dance floor alive until the very last song, before the couple made their grand sparkler exit under a sky full of stars.
It was a celebration that captured the true spirit of a European mountain destination wedding — elegant, natural, and unforgettable.
