Some wedding days are beautiful. Some are emotional. And some feel like stepping into a snow globe made just for two people. This winter wedding on the Zugspitze was exactly that – intimate, radiant, and filled with joy from the very first second.

The morning at Eibsee hotel – a view that takes your breath away
Our day began at the beautiful Eibsee-Hotel, the perfect base for a mountain wedding adventure. When the photographer Aneta Lehotska (special thanks for the amazing pictures in this blog!) and I arrived to pick up the bride and groom and their best friends, the atmosphere was already magical. The morning sun illuminated the snowy peak of the Zugspitze, the night before delivered fresh, white snow and the view from the hotel felt almost unreal. Excitement. Anticipation. And that sparkle in their eyes.
Up to the summit – and down to the glacier
We took the Zugspitze cable car – the valley station is just a 2 minutes walk from the Eibsee hotel – up into a winter wonderland. Floating above the mountains, wrapped in bright February sunshine, you could already sense this would not be an ordinary wedding day. From the summit, we descended once more to the glacier. Near the small romantic chapel, surrounded by endless white and a breathtaking alpine panorama, the couple exchanged their vows during an intimate symbolic ceremony. I had the pleasure and honor to write the speech and be their officiant as well. It was quiet. It was deeply personal. And it was overwhelmingly beautiful. Garmisch wedding as its best.
The way to the wedding ceremony was already an adventure
We do – with a view
Snow angels in wedding attire
After the ceremony and signing of the marriage certificate, it was time for portraits with the bride and groom and their best friends. Also did the kids attend, but we kindly ask for your understanding that we do not show pictures of them. This was a very small wedding – intentional, authentic, focused entirely on love and experience. And then came one of my favorite moments of the day: The bride and groom threw themselves into the snow and made snow angels — in wedding dress and suit. Pure joy. Pure freedom. Not thinking about anything. Just enjoying the moment! The bride even danced at times, simply because she couldn’t contain her happiness. ♥
Epic view above Bavaria
After some more couple takes we returned to the summit for even more breathtaking images. From up there, you can see across the endless mountain range, almost reaching Munich and down to the emerald lake Eibsee beside the hotel. The winter sun was surprisingly warm for February. Sunglasses came out. Laughter filled the air. The photos turned bold, cool, and cinematic. In between, you’ll spot me in some of the behind-the-scenes images — coordinating timelines, adjusting details, sharing quiet moments with the couple, and making sure everything flowed seamlessly. As a wedding planner, I’m often in the background… but sometimes right in the middle of the magic.
Back to the Eibsee hotel – coffee, cake and cozy moments
We went back down to Grainau with the cable car and after a few final portraits on the terrace of the Eibsee Hotel, we returned inside for coffee and cake in the cozy fireplace lounge. Waiting for them was a sweet little wedding cake decorated with a mountain relief — the perfect tribute to their extraordinary day. Warmth inside. Snow outside. Hearts completely full.

A winter wedding on the Zugspitze is not just a wedding. It’s an experience. An adventure. A memory that feels larger than life.
